Kisses From Katie

This blog post has been in the making for too long...I've started more times than not and mulled over everything that's in my brain but won't quite come out on paper.  I really feel this book has impacted my life in ways I am only beginning to really see unfolding.

Katie Davis is an inspiration for all!  Her love for Christ, faith, and the light she shines in His work keeps me in awe and set my heart a blazing!  I began reading Katie's blog about her work in Uganda back in the Spring of 2011.  It helped shape and inspire my perspective of the future God is calling my family into.

She demonstrates what it is to fully serve the least of us - the widows, the orphans, the hurting, the broken, the needy.  And she does this in the most humble and self-sacrificing way, encouraging others to join in and jump feet first into full servicehood.

Reading this book and keeping up with the blog continues to stir in my heart the passions God has granted me for the global scene and my struggle with First World luxuries that could/should be shared. We have so much and I have done alot of soul-searching, prayerful consideration, and research in how my family and I can be more sacrificial in our living.  We want to have less so that we can bless more.  We want to have less so we can focus on what we do have and not be overwhelmed by it.  We are working towards having less - by reducing our spending on ourselves and sending more to missions and ministry, while also selling more of the possessions we have.  We continue to pray that the desires of our flesh are subsided with the desires of Christ's love to serve more.

May this book encourage many others through the beautiful work this champion for Christ is doing!

Chapters of Life

I love a good analogy - and what better than a book analogy for life!
